From June 8 to 10, 2025, the China Polyurethane Flexible/Rigid Foam Industry Sustainable Development Technical (Training) Seminar, organized by the China Polyurethane Industry Association and co-organized by Menhover Foam Materials Exhibition, was successfully held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. The seminar gathered leading experts, scholars, and corporate representatives from across the industry to explore cutting-edge technologies and future pathways for low-carbon, intelligent, and circular development in the polyurethane foam sector. As a member of the association and a key co-organizer of the event, Menhover Technology actively participated and contributed outstanding content, becoming one of the focal points of the conference.

Menhover Launches Innovative Catalyst Solutions to Address Industry Pain Points

01 Forward-Looking Insights

During the technical exchange session, Menhover, as a core member unit, delivered a forward-looking keynote presentation. The report not only analyzed sustainability trends in the industry but also unveiled a series of innovative catalyst products targeting critical challenges, providing strong solutions for greener upgrades and performance optimization in polyurethane foams.

Menhover sharply identified the urgent demand from downstream industries for low-odor, low-VOC emissions, especially in:

  • Automotive Industry: Interior odors have become a new comfort standard. Traditional tertiary amine catalysts can generate unpleasant smells and cause window “fogging,” affecting driving safety.

  • Home Furnishing Industry: Products such as mattresses and pillows come into direct contact with the human body, where odor is a key quality factor. The potential health risks posed by tertiary amine catalysts cannot be overlooked.

  • Apparel Industry: Migration of amine catalysts can cause yellowing and contamination on fabric surfaces.

To address these pain points, Menhover introduced two major innovative solutions:

  1. Low-Odor Amine Catalysts

    • Solution: Use of higher molecular weight (high-boiling) amine substances, significantly reducing volatility while ensuring catalytic efficiency, odor control, and post-curing performance.

    • Representative Products: AT-367, KE-9828

  2. Reactive Catalysts (Zero Emission)

    • Solution: Incorporation of hydroxyl and other active groups in the molecule, which chemically bond with isocyanates (NCO) during foam reactions. This ensures no residue, zero emissions, and completely eliminates odor and migration issues.

    • Representative Products: AT-10, AT-98

Menhover Presents the Next-Generation Eco-Friendly Tin Catalyst: TN-200C

02 New Product Launch

  • Core Advantages: Significantly reduces odor and VOC emissions, contains no restricted substances, and easily meets stringent environmental standards (such as GMW15643 and the updated REACH regulations).

  • Application Convenience: Highly versatile, can replace traditional T9 (dibutyltin dilaurate) on a 1:1 basis, requiring only minor adjustments in amine catalyst dosage, enabling customers to seamlessly upgrade to eco-friendly formulations.

The successful seminar not only injected strong technological innovation momentum into the polyurethane foam industry but also built a solid bridge for collaboration among government, industry, academia, research, and application. With a focus on breakthroughs such as HCFC-141b replacement technologies and the application of high bio-based materials, the event clearly outlined the roadmap for China’s polyurethane industry to accelerate toward low-carbon, intelligent, and circular development—showcasing China’s determination and capability to contribute “Chinese Solutions” to the sustainable growth of the global polymer materials industry.

As an active participant and contributor, Menhover felt deeply honored. By releasing innovative low-emission and eco-friendly catalyst solutions, Menhover demonstrated its technological strength, and through hosting the “Menhover Night” banquet, it conveyed a spirit of cooperation and industry solidarity. Looking ahead, Menhover will continue to uphold the concept of innovation, deepen its expertise in the polyurethane materials field, and join hands with industry partners to drive the high-quality, sustainable development of China’s polyurethane industry.
