On September 16, the “2022 Jiangxi Think Tank Summit – Lushan Academician Innovation Forum” was held in Lushan. On September 17, a delegation of academicians and experts attending the summit—including Li Songjun, Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and Dean of the Institute of Polymer Materials at Jiangsu University, and Wu Dongfang, Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and Chief Expert of Nanjing Guanglan IoT Group—visited Yongxiu County to conduct field research focused on the development of the silicone industry.

Accompanying the delegation were: Wang Fengpeng, Vice Chairman of the Jiujiang CPPCC; Wang Xiaoyong, Director of the Jiujiang Science and Technology Bureau; Qin Ling, Secretary of the Yongxiu County Party Committee; Gan Jiazai, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department of Yongxiu County; Wan Shunhua and Li Kexin, Deputy County Magistrates; Guo Sanren, Vice Chairman of the Yongxiu CPPCC and Chairman of the Federation of Industry and Commerce; and Dai Bin, Party Secretary of Yunshan Economic Development Zone.
During the visit, the inspection group toured several key sites including the Silicone Innovation Park, Jiangxi Menhover Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., Jiujiang Runhe Synthetic Materials Co., Ltd., and the County Business Environment Express Service Center. At each stop, the experts engaged in in-depth discussions with company leaders, gaining a detailed understanding of their development status, technological innovation efforts, and future strategic plans.

At the symposium, Qin Ling first extended a warm welcome on behalf of the county’s Party Committee and Government. He noted that in recent years, Yongxiu has always regarded investment promotion as its “Number One Project,” vigorously implemented the strategy of “Strengthening the County through Industry,” and pursued the development path of “leading industry + pillar industry + emerging industry.” Yongxiu has made full use of three major platforms—the ‘Three Invitations and Three Returns’ initiative, Chamber of Commerce investment promotion, and leading-enterprise-driven promotion—to extend, supplement, and strengthen the silicone industry chain, thereby driving industrial upgrading and cluster development.
At the same time, Yongxiu has advanced the “Phoenix Action” (replacing inefficient enterprises with high-quality projects), fully launched the rectification of underperforming enterprises in its industrial parks, revitalized land resources, and promoted the “Yingshanhong Action” to support local enterprises in going public—continuously injecting vitality into county-level economic development.

The academicians and experts provided a range of valuable suggestions on accelerating Yongxiu’s high-quality social and economic development and strengthening its silicone industry. They remarked that Yongxiu enjoys an advantageous location and a solid industrial foundation. They encouraged the county to further optimize its development environment, provide proactive project services, promptly respond to enterprise demands, and effectively solve real difficulties faced by companies. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific and technological innovation, increasing R&D investment, and enhancing core competitiveness to inject new vitality into economic growth.

Qin Ling concluded that Yongxiu County will take this inspection as an opportunity to carefully review and adopt the valuable advice offered by the experts and academicians, and to implement it in practice to further advance the county’s high-quality and leapfrog development.
At the meeting, representatives of local enterprises also interacted with the academicians and experts, engaging in discussions about the challenges and issues encountered in their business development processes.
